Volunteers Needed for a Variety of Roles

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends...

I wasn't born when The Beatles released "With A Little Help From My Friends," in 1967, but the tune resonates right now in 2021. As I mentioned in my new president's note, through former president Will Wright’s leadership and vision, the Club has grown tremendously and evolved to be the among the most active of the Harvard Clubs in the southeast. My aim is to continue this vision, expanding on our existing goals, and connecting more alumni throughout the state. I've been blessed to have several new alums join our board and various committees, but I could still use a bit more help. Specifically, we need...

At Least 4 More Interviewers to Interview High School Seniors Applying to Harvard

We still need at least 4 more alumni to assist with interviews this year. You don’t need to have attended the College and we will provide all the info you need. Interviews are conducted in late November/early December for Early Action applicants and late January/early February for Regular Decision applicants. You won’t be asked to interview more than 3-4 applicants. To get started, log onto the portal and express your interest in interviewing for our club. As long as you are a Harvard alum and have claimed your HarvardKey, you should be able to fill out your degree and contact information in the Information Form and sign your Eligibility Form, then send an e-mail to Schools & Scholarships Chair, Loren Gary, to let him know you've completed the form. Loren can give you the background and training you need.

Membership Committee Members

Looking to connect with our 1000+ alumni in the state? Join the membership committee! Help by reaching out to new/renewing members or following up with those whose membership has lapsed and asking the to rejoin. Network with members/prospective members to share Club happenings and efforts.

Regional Representative for Wiregress Area

Live in the Wiregrass area? Help the Club connect with alumni from this part of the state by acting as a regional point of contact for alumni, interviewers, students, employers, and others interested in Harvard and the Club’s work. Organize 2-4 regional meet-ups annually.

Newsletter Writers

Do you have a way with words and want to get to know other alumni from the state? Write news/event content or alumni profiles for the Club website and monthly newsletter. We welcome one-off articles or regular contributions and will provide resources for article topics/profile.  No publishing experience is required--content is submitted via Google doc or MS Word.
