Kennan Gawlowicz
Kennan Gawlowicz, pictured left, BS, is a Master of Bioethics candidate at Harvard Medical School. Kennan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a global health concentration. Kennan is also a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Boston Children’s Hospital. She manages the review of protocol submissions and maintains oversight for approximately 500 approved protocols, including 70 clinical trials. Kennan’s research interest is focused on the Ethics of International Clinical Trials. She is passionate about expanding continued access to medicines for clinical trial participants in resource limited settings through implementation of access planning. Kennan has given presentations to physicians, researchers, and students on the need to expand post trial responsibilities and hold stakeholders to a higher accountability when conducting research abroad in order to promote human subjects research protection.

Lance Beverly
Lance Beverly, Ed. M. '14, was recently interviewed for ABC 33/40 News Talk of Alabama about his organization, Vidal Access, a non-profit that serves low-income students in the greater Birmingham area by providing high-level college counseling services within their own high school and remotely.
