Can Intermittent Fasting or Calorie Restriction Show The Aging Process? Dr. Courtney Peterson is Recruiting Participants for a New Study

Dr. Courtney Peterson is an Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham who conducts clinical studies in humans to develop new dietary approaches to combat diabetes and obesity, and to understand the factors that lead to metabolic disease. Her current research focuses on time-restricted feeding, which combines daily intermittent fasting and alignment with circadian rhythms (the body's internal clock). UAB is launching an exciting new study to see if either intermittent fasting or losing weight can slow the aging process for adults aged 25-45 years old with a BMI of 22-30. The study will measure things, like how many calories you burn, your stem cells, your telomeres, your body fat and muscle mass, and your true “biological” age.
